Keeping aspect ratio avoids distortion but can produce dimensions smaller than one requested edge. Turning it off sets the exact width and height and may stretch the image. If framing matters, crop first or use the social image resizer when a supported preset matches.
Resizing cannot restore detail that is absent from a small source. Inspect the result at its intended display size, then use the image compressor or converter if you also need a file-size or format change.
