Choose a suitable format and inspect the output preview. Lossless optimization cannot guarantee a smaller file, and lossy compression always trades some image information for size.
Lossless optimization preserves decoded pixels but may not reduce every file. JPEG and WebP quality settings are lossy: they can make files smaller, but fine detail may change.
Keep the original, select an appropriate format, compare the preview at full size, and download only when the result meets your needs. PNG is useful when exact pixel preservation or transparency matters.
