Prepare a smaller image attachment while keeping enough detail for the recipient and the email service’s attachment limit.
Email providers and workplace systems set their own message limits. Compress each image and check the final file size before attaching it; total message size can include multiple attachments and encoding overhead.
Use JPEG or WebP for photographs and compare the preview. For screenshots, diagrams, and transparency, PNG may preserve crisp edges but can remain larger. Resize images that will only be viewed inline.
